A Vision Rooted in Community and Excellence

Kakuji's commitment to excellence and community laid the foundation for enduring relationships with Japan's leading automakers, including Mitsubishi Motors, Mazda, Honda, Suzuki, and Subaru. His vision extended beyond manufacturing; he believed that a company's success was intrinsically linked to the well-being of its people and the communities it served.

Under his leadership, Katayama Kogyo became known not only for its technical innovations in rollforming, extrusion, and welding but also for its inclusive workplace culture. Kakuji championed initiatives that promoted employee development, work-life balance, and community engagement—principles that continue to define Katayama's corporate philosophy today.

A Lasting Impact Across Generations

Kakuji Katayama’s guiding mission—to balance technical precision with deep-rooted community involvement—remains the foundation of our company’s success to this day.
His belief that great companies are built on strong communities continues to guide us today. It’s why we remain deeply committed to employee development, why we design our facilities for long-term resilience, and why we prioritize lasting partnerships over short-term gains. Our reputation for reliability, quality, and trust has never been incidental—it is the result of a culture shaped by over seven decades of purpose-driven leadership.
Kakuji’s philosophy—that success is earned through care, consistency, and commitment—has grown with our company. As we continue to deliver precision-engineered solutions for the next generation of mobility, we carry forward the same values that shaped our earliest days: pride in our craft, responsibility to our people, and a belief that meaningful progress is built on strong relationships and shared purpose.
We honor a visionary leader whose dedication to craftsmanship and community continues to inspire and guide us.

From Ibara to the World
Katayama has continued to build lasting relationships with Japan’s leading automakers. Our history of partnership now spans decades and multiple generations:
- 1950s: Early partnerships began with Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (now Mitsubishi Motors) and Toyo Kogyo (now Mazda).
- 1980s–1990s: We expanded into advanced automotive systems, working closely with Honda and TOTO Industries.
- 2000s: Our capabilities grew to include hydroforming and new quality certifications (ISO, QA, ISO/TS).
- 2010s: New relationships with Suzuki and Subaru (Fuji Heavy Industries) continued our tradition of supporting Japan’s automotive industry
Today, Katayama Kogyo has consistently earned recognition for quality, reliability, and technological excellence, including being named a Best Quality Supplier by Mazda.
As we continue to grow our footprint, we look to the spirit of Katayama Kogyo — its pursuit of progress, its dedication to quality, and its enduring relationships — as the foundation for our future.
